Thank you, but is there a free Autodesk product that can open a dgn and convert to .DWG or .DXF?
Re: converting dgn files with DWG Trueview
Re: DWG Trueview 2018 won't open DWF files
After 2 years the autodesk web page still list DWG True view as capable of actually viewing DWF files.
See the comparison page:
https://www.autodesk.cz/viewers/all-viewers/compare
Could anyone please, make up for this. It's misleading and anoying...
Thx O.Minovsky
Re: DWG Trueview 2018 won't open DWF files
This is the only application that views DWF from Autodesk https://www.autodesk.com/products/design-review/download

Is it possible to set Viewport scale in DWG Trueview?
I'm trying to understand exactly how useful the Trueview viewer is meant to be. I see that you can open a .dwg, double-click in the viewport, pan around to alter what is in the viewport, or even zoom in & out to alter the viewport scale.
What I'm not seeing is the ability to set the viewport scale lik you can do in AutoCAD. I understand it's a free viewer, but is it really letting you change the VP scale without the ability to set that scale?
For instance, we typically print at 1/4" = 1'-0". If a field person wanted to print a similar view, but at 1/2", is there a way to do so? To be clear, I can personally think of many workarounds using other software to accomplish this. What I'm wanting to know is if *this* software can do this or something very similar.
Thanks

Re: Is it possible to set Viewport scale in DWG Trueview?
Yes, I've tried to figure it out. The fact that someone is asking a question in a forum is proof that that is NOT the best way to figure it out. Hahaha
Re: Is it possible to set Viewport scale in DWG Trueview?
I had found that you can use the LIST command, then select the Viewport and find out the scale. So you can essentially measure it, but I'm wanting to know if you can set it.
Re: Is it possible to set Viewport scale in DWG Trueview?
Well, not in the 20+ years I've been supporting users all around the globe anyway.
The answer is no: you did a good job of trying to find it. The viewer does not let you select items so you can't change items' settings.
For plotting at other scales you'll have to do the math in your head and select another in the PLOT dialog box.

Re: Measure distance not considering change to scale 2017
with that, how can you change the decimal places, as the file creater set the units in mm, but the number comes out to 6 decimal places.

do you know how they can do that?

Trueview loads DXF files but does not display them on screen
I have been using TrueView for many years to view and print DXF files. Recently, after loading free BlueBeam, TrueView no longer displayed DXF files on screen. It loads them fine and the drawing shows in the lower left corner, but does not expand onto the main screen. I select Extents, but nothing happens. I have tried changing colors and layers and have reloaded old and new versions of TrueView. The DXF files load and display on other computers with old and new versions of Trueview. I suspect that BlueBeam broke something because after loading it, none of my plotters and printers and PDF software worked. Deleted BlueBeam and reloaded printer drivers and they now all work again.
Dell Core 7 with Windows 10. Any ideas of what I need to do to get functional DXF displays and plots? Thanks

"...after loading free BlueBeam..."
You could try installing a newer (maybe an older) DTV version to see if you can knock out whatever DLL got installed that messed with the program.

Measure Distance tool
Either I noticed jambs in the work of autodesk dwg trueview 2021 or I do not understand something, please help:
when I use the tool Measure Distance, it sticks to points and sometimes sometimes it creates problems, for example, when you need to measure the distance from the building to the road - it sticks not at the shortest distance, but to a turn or an intersection, for example.
What to do, I didn't find any settings for this.

Re: Trueview loads DXF files but does not display them on screen
I tried reinstalling 2021 TrueView several times, 2017 TrueView also.
Same results.
Upgraded Intel video drivers from Dell.
Still nothing.
Not worth the efforts to reinstall Windows 10. TrueView is convenient, but not necessary.
Bluebeam is forever banned.
Thanks to those who sent comments.
