I've just read the system requirement for TrueView. It doesn't support WinXP anymore. I guess it's time for a new machine for me.

We have a customer that is using DWG TrueView 2013 on a laptop that he has recently installed. When he is openeing a CAL file the image is shown as white lines on a black background, but he would like it showing as black lines on a white background. The file is saved in a network location that can be accessed by other users also. Another user is able to open this file and this then displays correctly with black lines on a white background. I have tried to have a look in the options when you right click on the image for each user but cannot see any differences in the options. I have seen a few posts on forums saying that in the options there should be a "Display" tab but this is not there. Are there any other ways we can get this swapped around?

For file "%appdata%\Autodesk\DWG TrueView 20XX\RXX\enu\Support\Profiles\FixedProfile.aws" in section:

<HideableDialog id="Acad.UnresolvedFontFiles" title="Missing SHX Files" category="Missing SHX Files" application="" result="1002">

you have to edit by any text editor {result="1002"} to {result=""} - for any questions("Missing SHX Files"-window) or to {result="1001"} - for request the fonts.

My file is only DWG 

I can see my cad file into windows form application

Now I want make a list of cad layer and control the layers by selecting and deselecting in checkbox.

Will Not Start

Downloaded the free viewer DWG TrueView onto my laptop and it works fine. Attempted a couple installs onto the desktop and I get this message:

 

" The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click ok to close the application"  Tried to install with anti virus turned off with no success. Thanks for any help!!

Autodesk DWG TrueView 2017

Hello.  This is my first time doing this so I hope my question is received by someone because I really need some type of guidance.  I originally had Autodesk DWG TrueView 2015 installed in my computer at work and had no problems up until recently.  I had not used it in a while and when I went in last week to view a CAD drawing and then to mark up and print it, I noticed that the markup/edit toolbar was missing.  This is the toolbar where I would normally access the features to select or highlight a particular room, maybe draw a cloud around it or create arrows pointing towards certain areas with notes on it and then select to print only that room and the markups and notes that I included.  Now that toolbar and it's features are gone and I am driving myself crazy trying to figure out why and what am I supposed to do now because without those features, then it defeats the purpose of me having TrueView to begin with.  If it helps any, the toolbar I am referring to has that large capital A in it along with the features I normally used.  I mentioned my dilemma to a fellow co-worker in our Toronto office who was kind enough to send me the Autodesk website because he thought I probably just needed to upgrade to the 2017 version.  Therefore I downloaded the free version from the site but that toolbar is still missing.  Is there a way for me to access this toolbar in the 2017 version or does it no longer exist for Autodesk DWG TrueView in general?  I would greatly appreciate any type of information, guidance or help with this matter because as luck would have it, I would have to discover this just as I am about to work on a project in which I need access to those features.  I hope someone out there knows what I am referring to and is willing and able to point me in the right direction.  Again, it would be much appreciated and I apologize for being too wordy but I am in desperate need of help.  Thank you.

DWG Trueview 2017 - Remove Start Tab

Not sure if this is the right place for this as I was unable to find a category for DWG Trueview.

 

Is there a way to turn off the Start tab in DWG Trueview 2017?  I've done this in AutoCAD 2017 (via the STARTMODE command) and was hoping to do the same in DWG Trueview 2017, however I can't type commands in Trueview.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi ,

 

I also have turn off the start tab in Acad, but I think its not possible in True Viewer.

There is no command line and there is no option to change something!

Right-click on the Ribbon and see if that is turned off (no check mark)
OR
Click on the big-red A, start OPTIONS, and see if you have other options to get it back.

Even in TV 2017 the CREATE_DESKTOP_SHORTCUT=NO option doesn't seem to work :-(

To get rid of the desktop shortcut, proceed as follows:

  • Download orca.exe (MSI editor) from an official website like https://msdn.microsoft.com/nl-nl/library/aa370557(v=vs.85).aspx
  • Start orca and open x86/dwgviewr/dwgviewr.msi (or in the x64 folder in case of 64-bit)
  • Open the Shortcut Table by clicking on it
  • Locate the desktopshortcut record and, right-click on it and select "drop row"
  • Save the MSI and install

Unless you know what you're doing, DO NOT MESS with the other tables.

Trueview 2017 - help to change layer "palette" location.

I had to reinstall after getting a new computer, and I can't recall how to get the layer palette/manager to show up on the left side instead of the top drop-down.

Hi :  Thank you for your prompt response.  It's unfortunate that this is unavailable as an option in TrueView given that we have that option in AutoCAD!
